STEPHEN KING *REPOST LAST ONE WAS MESSED UP WITH THE WRONG TITLE TO THE WRONG POST

In the book  “Pet Sematary” by Stephen King so far is about a family (the Creeds) that move into a house right across the street from an older couple that tells them about a “Pet Sematary.”  I am starting to notice a trend in the book between animals that are loved, getting hit by trucks and going to the “sematary.”  But I believe there is more to the sematary than just that.

I think that this “Pet Sematary” is a meeting place for a lot of kids in the neighborhood.  My question remains why a pet sematary as a meeting place?  In the text it said “Timmy Dessler’s cocker spaniel and Missus Bradleigh’s parakeet.  Not that the parakeet got run over in the road, you understand.  It just went feet up one day.”  Since this is occurring why are all these animals just dying?

Not only as a reader am I just questioning why all these animals are “going feet up one day,” when some of them weren’t hit by trucks like the others.  What was their cause of death?  I’m also thinking that the possible cause of death can lead to the Pet Sematary.”  There has been a mysterious vibe that was placed on the “Pet Sematary” by the author, but I can only question what the “Pet Sematary” really is and whether it ties to causing the death of animals and maybe even people.

The author never throws the idea that the “Pet Sematary” is the problem, but he mainstreams its significance by mentioning it several times throughout the book so far.  The “Pet Sematary” is a “cliff hanger” because you can only wonder what it is and the full purpose besides being a burial place for dead animals.

So far I have just started reading this book.  And like a well-written book should it is causing me to question what is the reason this “Pet Sematary” is so mysterious?  Will it cause harm to the new Creed family?  Yet these are all to be answered in my next blog post.

Stephen King

In the book "The American Warrior," by Gary O'Neil the protagonist Gary describes a tale of when he was on the battlefield.  He tells of a time when he was held captive and beaten daily.  And he had a major decision to be made, give up highly classified government information that would leave America vulnerable or give up his family...his wife...and his kids and as any truly dedicated soldier would have done, he chose not to leak the information.   So far throughout this gory tale I can really see how war destroys not only people and their homes but the minds of the people that give their lives to protect America people.

The first thing that came across my mind was how war makes people do things they would most likely never image in they would do.  When the author said "War does things to man that causes them to do things they never thought they would" was a perfect example of what occurred in Gary's life.  This was shown when Gary came to the decision that he would choose his job over his family.  Remarks such as war causes man to do things they never thought they would do are usually made about addicts who are victims of some type of substance.  What many people don't understand is that war is a drug and unit we can find ways to help our troops like the protagonist Gary scarred troops will continue to  make these unfortunate mistakes.

The second thing that has occurred in Gary's unfortunate adventure is consistent nightmares that he says, "I wake up screaming, I hear my children for me to help my ind as a father tells me I must help my children but it is abruptly taken over by my extensive raining.  What I was told to do was to leak no information and to let nothing get in the way of the classified information and my mission.

After I read this, I came to the conclusion that war has gotten Gary very confused and he does not know how to listen to his conscience and what it tells him.  He simply follows orders that others have given to him basically causing him not to be the leader in his life any longer.  This war far has destroyed Gary due to his extensive military training he no longer knows the difference between the battlefield and real life this has overall destroyed Gary as a person not only as the person he was before but as a civil human being.

In the end Gary is yet another victim of war and its drug-like effects.  this is also an example for America that was doesn't stop when you leave the battlefield.  It follows and haunts you till you reach your grave leaving a shell of the former American that was strong enough to give their lives to America.

Blog Revision

War destroys not only people and their homes but it destroys the minds of the people that give their lives to protect America.  As Americans, we should take measures to make sure the sanity of our troops and make sure that they can safely come back into the general population.

We have all heard war stories about how you never come back the same after you have been in a war, and I’ve come to find that this is only half of the story.  In the book An American Warrior by Gary O’Neal is an actual soldier who has served his whole life in different levels of the American army and marines.  He said, “War does things to a man that causes them to do things they never thought they would.  This is coming from someone who has served in wars and has seen things many have not.  How will someone like that be able to all of a sudden walk down the street and not be mentally disturbed?   Having former soldiers abruptly go from the change of being in battle to everyday life is not only dangerous for themselves, but for others around them.

War destroys the minds of the soldiers by haunting them for the rest of their lives.  This is serious because if soldiers are hallucinating, he or she could kill someone around them for no particular reason.  When we think of hallucination, we think of dreams or mirages, but his is downright haunting.  In the book American Warrior, Gary O’Neal said, “I sometimes wake up screaming, hearing my children screaming for me to help but I can’t.  I can’t release classified information even though my family and I are being tortured.  I want to help my children, but my training tells me my mission is worth more than anything.    I never knew war could destroy people to the point they choose a mission over their family.

I believe that implementing extensive therapy programs and life coaching could easily solve problems like these.  This would solve these problems  by taking a deeply rooted military ways and extracting them from the person’s natural extinct and bring them back to their civilian ways.  This way the troops can live happier and safer, as well as insuring the safety of people around them.

This is how war destroys not only the people in their homes but the minds of the people that give their lives to protect America.
