http://isabelsbooks2000.blogspot.com 6 months later

As I was reading Isabel's post about the book ''6 months later'' by Natalie D. Richards, I immediately  it was a very well written and detailed post. But not only was it detailed and well written, it also highlighted a lot of issues that are in teen girls lives currently. Of course i am not a girl myself, but from what I observe from my surroundings at school. the issue it highlighted was girls falling for boys. Isabel gave a quick description which is the ''typical teen girl crush'' ''Chloe who started off as a average student, she had a best friend named Maggie and a huge crush on the "most popular" guy. ''

The first initial things that I found particularly interesting about her post was, how it related well to a reader of any age because even our grandparents can remember the popular crew(s). And how they had crushes, because it is an experience that literally every girl has gone through. In Isabel's post i also liked how she goes deeper than the usual girls problems but discusses how the author presents the problem where as her being bias and completely using her own point of view. for example she said ''There are many complex issues under all the huge issues in Chloe's life that the author doesn't tell you about but they are obviously there. Chloe's relationship with Blake ends''. When I read that I knew that it was going to be a point in why her essay is strong.

Towards the middle part of the post that stuck out the most was how there was not the typical ''I found a new crush that benefits me better story'' but has a surprising twist," Adam and Chloe's relationship is dangerous in many ways, Chloe can't remember anything about there relationship in the past six months and no one will fill her in on any of the events that happened during that time. Adam tries to stay away from Chloe because he feels like he doesn't deserve Chloe because of his past, but Chloe gets past everything because she needs Adam in her life to help her remember and help her with all of her memories." The way that this post began as a typical "teenage girl crush" and then turned into a whole other situating being added to it, made Isabel's post very fascinating.

American Warrior byGary O'neal

In the book "The American Warrior," by Gary O'Neil the protagonist Gary describes a tale of when he was on the battlefield.  He tells of a time when he was held captive and beaten daily.  And he had a major decision to be made, give up highly classified government information that would leave America vulnerable or give up his family...his wife...and his kids and as any truly dedicated soldier would have done, he chose not to leak the information.   So far throughout this gory tale I can really see how war destroys not only people and their homes but the minds of the people that give their lives to protect America people.

The first thing that came across my mind was how war makes people do things they would most likely never image in they would do.  When the author said "War does things to man that causes them to do things they never thought they would" was a perfect example of what occurred in Gary's life.  This was shown when Gary came to the decision that he would choose his job over his family.  Remarks such as war causes man to do things they never thought they would do are usually made about addicts who are victims of some type of substance.  What many people don't understand is that war is a drug and unit we can find ways to help our troops like the protagonist Gary scarred troops will continue to  make these unfortunate mistakes.

The second thing that has occurred in Gary's unfortunate adventure is consistent nightmares that he says, "I wake up screaming, I hear my children for me to help my ind as a father tells me I must help my children but it is abruptly taken over by my extensive raining.  What I was told to do was to leak no information and to let nothing get in the way of the classified information and my mission.

After I read this, I came to the conclusion that war has gotten Gary very confused and he does not know how to listen to his conscience and what it tells him.  He simply follows orders that others have given to him basically causing him not to be the leader in his life any longer.  This war far has destroyed Gary due to his extensive military training he no longer knows the difference between the battlefield and real life this has overall destroyed Gary as a person not only as the person he was before but as a civil human being.

In the end Gary is yet another victim of war and its drug-like effects.  this is also an example for America that was doesn't stop when you leave the battlefield.  It follows and haunts you till you reach your grave leaving a shell of the former American that was strong enough to give their lives to America.

smoke signals

In the article smoke signals by Alessandra Potenza brought the controversy of whether electric cigarettes are beneficial to the american people or is it actually attracting people and possibly teens to the addiction of smoking.
After I read the article I came to my own personal conclusion, I concluded that electric cigarettes are attracting teens of smoking ante or teens becoming of age (to smoke) are actually attracting teens curiosity. I concluded this after reading credible, sourced information. " A recent study conducted by the nation center for disease prevention and control that proved that the number of teens using electric cigarettes have nearly doubled since 2012.
Another reason why the electric cigarettes in my personal opinion should be banned is because, they contain nicotine. Nicotine is an addicting chemical that is found in traditional cigarettes, and even though these electric cigarettes don't cause cancer, they still cause addictions to the user. And if we can get rid of the habit of traditional cigarettes why should we create yet another habit forming product that isn't worth teens and adults time.
Finally if the tobacco industry makes jobs for people and it improves the workers and owner lives yet it is taking away other peoples lives, this should not be.
in the end no form of smoking should be allowed for the greater good of the american people as well as the environment that gets damaged each time smokers light a cigarette.
