AMERICAN SNIPER by Chris Kyle

In the book " American Sniper" the main character Chris tells of his story as a Navy S.E.A.L. Chris talks about his passion for guns and that was what drove him to become a S.E.A.L. And in the process of becoming a S.E.A.L he is learning things about himself that very few people ever do.
Chris begins to learn that his passion to be a S.E.A.L goes a lot further than a passion for guns, he finds he has a passion for his country, which wasn't the original reason he joined the S.E.A.L teams. Chris also learns that he is not as stealthy off the battlefield as he is when he is on the battlefield because when he met his now wife she suspected he was in the military, and after enough questioning finally admitted he is a S.E.A.L.
Chris also found out that he is not just a rough Texas ranch hand and cowboy but that he has a sensitive side. And he starts to explore his love life and meets who later became his wife Tanya. And she exposes to him that he is not just a rugged, emotionless man because he is a S.E.A.L.
After Chris completes his training and qualifies to be deployed he is going to have to learn to keep balance between being a killing machine. This allows Chris to value both aspects of his personality.
All in all Chris improved not just as a S.E.A.L but as a person and he also got a better understanding of who he is as a person.

Non Fiction Blog Post

I read the article “MOVE OR ELSE” in the “UPFRONT” magazine, and I learned a lot about where our money goes when we buy thing that are made in china. The author Ian Johnson was talking about the negative effects that the money the economy makes from making 70% percent of the things stocked at Wal-Mart. The main negative effects of the billions f dollars china makes from America is that they are demolishing the homes of farmers and people living in rural parts of china.
In the article it was describing the efforts that the Chinese government is making to ensure that they make the rural population of china non-existent in their current location and make them become “Office workers.”  This is information that is good to know because we can see not only the effect of us sending all our items to be made or equipped in china and the impact it has on our economy but china’s economy as well. The people of china that are being moved are completely out of their element because they are not used to high rise buildings and skyscrapers and jobs where you sit in a cubical. They are used to working in the fields and doing what they know. This was made clear in the text when the former farmers were asked about how they feel about their new living conditions and said, “ Those are for educated people.”
Another effect that our importing goods made in china have on the people there especially the farmers is that they are not given a choice of whether they would like to move or not they are forced to move followed by having their house demolished. This shows that the business that we provide for china makes the people live lavish lifestyles, we soon to find out that all that money goes to the government that moves its people around like pawns on a chess board. The only solution to try and stop and or prevent things like this from happening is to boycott all goods that are made in china which was proven difficult to do in the text where it said “It sometimes seems that all the things that Americans buy is made in china-from clothing cellphones to refrigerators. About 70% of the goods Wal-Mart sells are made in china.”
There is not much we can do about this dilemma due to the fact that china is a communist country. Therefore the government can do whatever, whenever they want to.  But we might be able to control what our companies do, and make sure that we can legally make sure they no longer support china and that they will send their goods to be made in other countries that will legally agree to have the money benefit the government and the people rather than simply “fueling the fire” by giving china money to do this to their people.
All in all we as Americans sometimes do things the easy way because its cheaper and its not your problem what they do with the money but that is just sick because we have to worry about the overall well being of the people rather than disliking the innocent people their that have no power over the government. We should simply lend a helping hand not to the government but to the people.

LITERARY ESSAY

In the play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, there are several different themes that are involved throughout the play.  Most importantly there are three main themes that occur and re-occur many times in the play.  The three themes are young love, which is portrayed in Romeo and Juliet’s relationship.  Determination, which is represented in the sacrifice that Romeo and Juliet make to try to keep their relationship in tact.  And finally grief, which is depicted in the play when both Romeo and Juliet grieve each other’s deaths.

Determination was the theme that drove Romeo and Juliet’s relationship.  For example, Romeo and Juliet always said that if they die they die together.  After that was said, Romeo got news later on that Juliet was dead, and was buried in the Capulet’s tomb.  After that, Romeo buys poison and goes to the tomb, and he then found Juliet dead and said “If thou be merciful, open the tomb, lay me with Juliet.” (Act 5, Scene 3, Lines 72 – 73).  Not only were Romeo and Juliet determined to live and die together, they were also determined for their love to be successful.  Romeo and Juliet had to be determined because if they weren’t their love wouldn’t be successful due to their families being enemies.  This causes Romeo and Juliet to learn that they have fallen in love with “the enemy.”  But to save their love, they are trying to extend an olive branch to one and the other. Besides Romeo and Juliet’s team determination to get Romeo to marry her.  In the text, Juliet’s determination to get Romeo to marry her was portrayed when she said “If that thy bent of love be honourable/thy purpose marriage, send me word tomorrow.” (Act 2, Scene 2, Line 17).  As a result of all these points, determination is definitely an important theme in Romeo and Juliet.

The second theme that was strongly portrayed in Romeo and Juliet is young love.  Romeo and Juliet experienced young love throughout the whole play, but you could distinguish it in the beginning of the story.  When Romeo and Juliet first met their love for each other appeared instantaneously.  Romeo’s love for Juliet was depicted in the text when Romeo said, “She hath, and in that sparing makes huge waste; for beauty, starved with her severity, cuts beauty off from all prosperity.  She too fair, to merit bliss by making me despair.  She hath for sworn to love, and in that vow do I live dead, that live to tell it now.”  (Act 1, Scene 1, Line 226 – 232).  Not only have Romeo and Juliet just experienced typical young love, but they have also fell into their young love extremely quick.  As a result of Romeo and Juliet falling into love extremely quick, the experiences they have together that follow their relationship are expected to happen just as fast.  This was evident in the text when Juliet said, “Gallop apace your fiery footed steeds, toward Phoebus lodging.  Such a wagoner as Phaeton would whip you to the west and bring in cloudy night immediately,”  (Act 3, Scene 2, Line 1 – 3).  This was the topic that was portrayed the most out of the whole play compared to any other theme.

The final theme that was clear in Romeo and Juliet was the theme of grief.  Towards the “Tragedy of Roeo and Juliet,” Romeo found out that Juliet was dead and Romeo found out that Juliet was dead and Romeo was going to see her in Capulet’s tomb he said “Thou detestable maw, thou womb of death, gorged with the dearest morsel of the earth, thus I enforce thy rotten jaws to open and in despite I’ll cram thee with more food.”  (Act 5, Scene 3, Lines 45 – 48).  Also in the text when Romeo saw Juliet in the tomb, Romeo showed more grievance by not only committing suicide, but by saying, “For here lies Juliet, and her beauty makes this vault a feasting presence full of light.”  (Act 5, Scene 3, Line 85 – 87).

All in all, the young love of Romeo and Juliet led to their grievance of when they died.  But their determination made them die relatively close together.  And those three themes basically lead the story of Romeo and Juliet.

STEPHEN KING "PET SEMETARY"

As I continued my reading in my book, I have now found out that the “pet semetary” really is a "pet semetary.” And some of the mysterious things have been solved, such as what the “pet semetary” looks like.
The pet semetary looks like any other semetary except a lot of more emotions can be felt there rather than in a regular cemetery. But the fact that all these pets have all died similar deaths is pretty strange. It also seems that the care the kids have for their dead pet lasts almost forever. I say this because when most pets de after a few weeks’ kids start to not cry as much or at all, and are not bothered by their old pet and want a new one. In the text it said, “ kids interest burn like newspaper, hot, bright, and fast.”
Another thing I have found out in the text is that there is a group of kids who go to the semetary and mourn according to the Creed families neighbor Mrs. Jud. But I still do not believe that because why would any kids want to morn so often over pets that have been dead for several years. I say this because of the people I now and see around me know to get over dead pets. And that life continues, so what is the real reason for the town kids to hangout at the “pet semetary?”
I know that this book is supposed to be a horror but I am still impatiently waiting to find out whether the kids who go to the pet semetary are the problem, or the pet semetary itself. I am still left with a lot of details untold.
All in all I am still holding on to the book as I type this post and I am ready to find out! I will fill in all the questions you are thinking right now in my next blog post where I myself know.

STEPHEN KING *REPOST LAST ONE WAS MESSED UP WITH THE WRONG TITLE TO THE WRONG POST

In the book  “Pet Sematary” by Stephen King so far is about a family (the Creeds) that move into a house right across the street from an older couple that tells them about a “Pet Sematary.”  I am starting to notice a trend in the book between animals that are loved, getting hit by trucks and going to the “sematary.”  But I believe there is more to the sematary than just that.

I think that this “Pet Sematary” is a meeting place for a lot of kids in the neighborhood.  My question remains why a pet sematary as a meeting place?  In the text it said “Timmy Dessler’s cocker spaniel and Missus Bradleigh’s parakeet.  Not that the parakeet got run over in the road, you understand.  It just went feet up one day.”  Since this is occurring why are all these animals just dying?

Not only as a reader am I just questioning why all these animals are “going feet up one day,” when some of them weren’t hit by trucks like the others.  What was their cause of death?  I’m also thinking that the possible cause of death can lead to the Pet Sematary.”  There has been a mysterious vibe that was placed on the “Pet Sematary” by the author, but I can only question what the “Pet Sematary” really is and whether it ties to causing the death of animals and maybe even people.

The author never throws the idea that the “Pet Sematary” is the problem, but he mainstreams its significance by mentioning it several times throughout the book so far.  The “Pet Sematary” is a “cliff hanger” because you can only wonder what it is and the full purpose besides being a burial place for dead animals.

So far I have just started reading this book.  And like a well-written book should it is causing me to question what is the reason this “Pet Sematary” is so mysterious?  Will it cause harm to the new Creed family?  Yet these are all to be answered in my next blog post.
